Whew! It's been 5 years since my father and I started SmugMug together.


What a ride it's been! We're still having a blast, and SmugMug's profitable, so life's good. My wife, kids, cats, and dog are all doing great and I can't complain about sunny California.

New BMW E46 M3 parts for sale - exhaust, suspension, shocks, etc : I had a Dinan Stage 3 package plust short-shift kit dealer-installed on my new 2006 E46 BMW M3 with less than 100 miles on it. As a result, the parts that were replaced are now up for sale to the best offer. All the car parts in the photos are in the package - sorry, I'm not splitting it. Everything must go! Be sure to check the "Original" sized images for the best view of what there is.

QuakeCon '97 - Wendigo's Pics : Mirrored for posterity by permission of wendigo. Original link I was one of the organizers and worked my tail off with everyone else to make sure this was the best QuakeCon ever... and it was! This is also what got me my job at Ritual, and interestingly enough, also was the time I introduced Anna Kang to John Carmack. They're married now. :)

My Friend Harley : My friend Harley passed away on Friday, May 2nd, 2003. He was one of the first employees to work at Best Internet, as I was, and we quickly hit it off. He acted the tough guy, but he really had a heart of gold. He, along with Karl, took me (I was a young 17 year-old punk at the time) under their wings and gave me some of the best times of my life. As Best grew, we were joined by other close friends like Arian and Sam. It was a magical time. For years, we were nearly inseperable. We worked hard, we played hard. All-night DOOM deathmatches, all-day sessions at Q-Zar playing Laser Tag, thousands of technical support calls, and countless movies. Ken's, Domino's Pizza (breadsticks!), Denny's, Taco Bell. Duke Nukem, Mechwarrior II, MDK. Pulp Fiction, HK movies, Desperado, anime, John Woo, Hellraiser, Chow-Yun Fat, Hard Boiled. BA Posse, BBQ nights with Babylon 5, Star Trek, and X-Files. Heavy Metal. The time some punks stole my pager and Harley was single-handedly ready to rip them up. I wish I had seen him recently. I miss my friend Harley. smugmug homepage evolution : After launching our new homepage on 3-12-2003, I thought it'd be nice to archive screenshots of our past homepages for nostalgia purposes. So here they are. Small details, like the photos on the page for sample galleries, are probably a little off... turned out to be more difficult to dust these things off than I thought. But the layout and design (or lack thereof :) is pretty accurate. Some of them occurred even before the public saw the site, so that might be of interest to see how far we've come.

Quake II hidden texture : I think this may have been yanked before Q2 actually went gold, but I have some beta copies with it in it. American McGee slipped this in without telling anyone else. A bunch of us ended up in the Q2 source, too, I guess as milestone codenames or something. Pretty neat.

Sweet kittens : In August of 2001, my wife and I took in an abondoned Mama cat and her two new kittens to foster. As you can see, they had upper respritory infections but were terribly cute none-the-less. We adopted the two kittens out to a great home and kept the Mama cat (Cara) for our own.
